TUMWATER – Damion Blevins, a 33-year-old Less Restrictive Alternative resident, was taken into custody late this afternoon in Portland, OR.

Blevins boarded a train to Portland Monday evening at King Street Station in Seattle after removing his GPS ankle monitor. He will be booked into the Multnomah County jail and then extradited to Washington state to face new charges. DOC will provide more details about the arrest as they become available.

Blevins was a resident of a Less Restrictive Alternative (LRA) in Tukwila. LRAs are community residential facilities that offer court ordered treatment for Sexually Violent Predators in a setting less restrictive than the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island. The program is run by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), but LRA residents are monitored for compliance of their supervision requirements by DOC.

Blevins was most recently convicted of second-degree assault in 2017 and civilly committed to the Special Commitment Center in 2023.
