The system of personnel administration that applies to classified employees or positions under the jurisdiction of RCW 41.06 RCW and exclusively under those chapters of WAC 357 that are adopted by the Washington Personnel Resources Board.

Wide Area Network (WAN)
A data transmission facility connecting geographically dispersed (typically across the state, nation, or world) computers and peripheral devices under some form of standard control.

Witness
A person identified by the prosecutor's office as participating in the prosecution of the offender on behalf of the prosecutor. The individual does not necessarily need to be called to the witness stand.

Scheduled working hours within the work day.

Workplace
Any location, either permanent or temporary, where the employee/contract staff performs any work-related duty. This includes, but is not limited to: buildings and the surrounding perimeters (I.e., parking lots and client's homes); any remote area where the employee is engaged in official business; employer owned or private vehicles when used for business purposes, including traveling to and from work assignments.

Workweek
A regular recurring period of 168 hours beginning at a time determined by the appointing authority and continuing for seven consecutive 24-hour periods.
