TUMWATER – Two fugitives wanted by the state Department of Corrections (DOC) were arrested in the last 24 hours.

Damien Madison and a co-defendant led Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase through Tenino last Thursday, May 8. Madison fired an AR-15 at law enforcement during the pursuit. Madison was arrested Tuesday at the California-Nevada border. The FBI’s Criminal Apprehension Team led an interstate effort to locate and apprehend him.

David Williford cut off his GPS monitor shortly after his release to community supervision on May 5. DOC community corrections officers arrived at the location in minutes in response to a tampering notice, but Williford had disappeared. Late Monday night, Mason County Sheriff’s deputies brought Williford safely into custody.

DOC maintains a list of its most-wanted fugitives on its website. DOC invites tips at (866) 359-1939 or online through the department’s Tips and Leads Form.
