Glossary Terms for Policy 420.110

Escape History
Escapes are defined as any escape from custody such as willful failure to return to a Reentry Center, escape from a minimum security facility, escape from a walled security facility perimeter, escape from a county jail, juvenile escapes adjudicated through a court, and adjudicated Community Custody Inmate (CCI) escapes. Attempted escape is considered the same as escape. The date of the escape/attempted escape will be used in determining the time period for scoring.

Escorted Leave
A leave of absence from a correctional facility under the continuous supervision of an escort.

Furlough
An authorized leave of absence for an eligible resident, without any requirement that the resident be accompanied by, or be in the custody of, any law enforcement or corrections official while on furlough.

Immediate Family
An Incarcerated individual's children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, parents, stepparents, grandparents, great grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and a person legally married to or in a state registered domestic partnership with an incarcerated individual. "Immediate family" includes the immediate family of an incarcerated individual who was adopted as a child or an adult, but does not include an incarcerated individual adopted by another incarcerated individual (or the immediate family of the adopted or adopting individual).

Postpartum
The entire period a woman or youth is in the hospital, birthing center, or clinic after giving birth, and an additional time period, if any, a treating physician determines is necessary for healing after the woman or youth leaves the hospital, birthing center, or clinic.
