Information or communication of any type, including memos/bulletins, brochures/publications, email, documents on portable storage devices, browser history, voicemail, and electronic records/files.

The physical or personal interaction with a system or device, such as typing on a keyboard or accessing a computer through a remote desktop.

Indirect Use
The use of a system or device through another person, device, or by proxy. Indirect use or access includes, but not limited to: 1. Processing an information request for a person or entity not authorized to access the information, 2. Letting an unauthorized person view data on a Department information system, 3. Allowing an unauthorized person or entity to direct the actions of a user on a Department information system, 4. Allowing an unauthorized person to access a Department information system for, or in place of, an authorized user, and 5. Connecting an unauthorized device to an authorized device to access a Department information system.
