On July 19, six members of the Washington State Department of Corrections Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) deployed to the Colville Tribes Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in response to the Kaiser Canyon Fire.
DOC’s IMT provides trained personnel and a structured incident-management framework to help coordinate complex emergency operations. Working alongside the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, our team is delivering training, strengthening response capabilities, and helping build sustainable, resilient operations for the future.
The EOC is currently supporting the community through:
- Shelter Operations: Ensuring safe spaces and care for displaced residents.
- Donations & Supplies: Managing donation centers and distributing essential items directly to impacted community members.
- Evacuation Coordination: Monitoring, managing, and sharing updated evacuation levels.
- Community Communication & Resources: Hosting public meetings, connecting residents with relief resources, and sharing timely safety information.
- Unified response: Coordinating closely with the Fire Incident Management Teams on the ground to ensure a unified, effective response.
We are proud of our team's dedication and grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the Colville Tribes and support our neighboring communities during this critical time.
