"Trudi and I join all Washingtonians in mourning the loss of Lt. Col. Flando Jackson. Flando was a dedicated public servant who put his fellow Washingtonians first. He spent his career serving others, both as a state employee at the Department of Corrections and a member of our military. I send my condolences to Flando's family and friends, as well as his colleagues and co-workers. Our state lost a tremendous Washingtonian who will be sorely missed."

Statement from DOC Secretary Dick Morgan regarding the death of Lt. Col. & Community Corrections Officer Flando Jackson:
"Community Corrections Officer Flando Jackson was dedicated to public safety with the Department of Corrections for over 13 years. Officer Jackson was known to have a smile on face and a respectful demeanor for all people he encountered regardless of circumstance or situation. Our agency's thoughts are with his family during this difficult period of mourning."
