PRESS RELEASE: Multiple Inmates Involved in Fight at Stafford Creek Corrections Center

ABERDEEN – Multiple inmates at Stafford Creek Corrections Center, located 6 miles west of Aberdeen, were involved in a fight which led to the prison going into lockdown.
The fight broke out around 7:46 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, in one of the medium custody units. At 8:08 a.m., two additional fights, related to the first, broke out in the kitchen area. Inmates were treated for minor injuries and exposure to pepper spray.
There were no staff injuries.
Stafford Creek houses about 2,000 male inmates in minimum-, medium-, and maximum-custody units.
